Countdown for Christmas

I remember when we were in the Philippines we can start to hear christmas songs in the month of September and some families already preparing to decorate their houses with christmas decors. We really missed christmas in the Philippines. But we accept the fact that we are no longer in the Philippines and we can make things the same even not in our own country. Now, we can feel the presence of christmas and it is truly on its way. We feel the coolness of the air every morning. But sad to say that here in Thailand, some people celebrate christmas in the essence of Sta Clause. Right now we can see the malls have some christmas decor already and people are now busy buying stuffs for christmas. So we are, we just set up the small christmas tree we had last year. We want to light our home with this christmas tree and remember what the Lord Jesus Christ has done here on earth more than 2000 years ago. We want to share it to others the true meaning of christmas.

Who will help street kids....?

We are now a month in our new center and about 10 kids coming regularly. Yesterday one of the kids come a the Rock with some fruits and she is selling it. Our Thai staff being compassionate bought all of it and we let them eat. Day after day they are coming to us and shares their problems at home. Some of them can't go to school because they have no money to pay for their transportaion going and back home. Some of them were forced to work with their parents so that they have something to eat in the evening. Their parents either let them work or being on the street playing the whole day rather letting them go to school. So,their education is very poor. Some of them still had a difficulty in reading and writing. So our prayer as a team is that we can help them encourage and let them realized that education is very important to everyone. We are trying to know who their parents are so that we can teach them to value education for their kids. We just pray that our Heavenly Father will be with these kids and that we can nuture them in God's word and that one day God will change their whole life. They are the future generation and we, being a child of God can impart thoughts that will encourage them to go on. The Word of God is powerful enough to change the life of individual. The Word of God is sharper than any two edged sword.

Thailand noodle soup..... Chicken noodle soup

During lunch time i enjoyed eating my favorite noodles. Though i can't eat in a very spicy one yet i always used to eat this, just putting a little amount of chilli powder. This is one of the best food i like in thailand. So i want to share it with other that's why i put the ingredients so that you can try it by yourself. It is very easy to cook..

Ingredients:
6 cups chicken broth
2 boneless chicken breasts, chopped up small, OR leftover roasted chicken or turkey* (see below)
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. chilli powder
2 Tbsp. fish sauce, plus more to taste
2 Tbsp. lime juice
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 red or green chilli, finely sliced (seeds removed if less heat is desired)
1/2 cup dry roasted unsalted peanuts, ground in a food processor, blender, or with pestle & mortar
1 head fresh broccoli cut up into bite-size pieces
handful of fresh coriander
2 spring onions, sliced finely
1/2 can thick coconut milk
1 pkg. vermicelli or thin egg/wheat noodles
4 heaping Tbsp. dry baking-style coconut, unsweetened
*Leftover roasted chicken/turkey also works for this recipe - include the bones & remove just before eating.

The Rock-open house

I would say that we had a successful open house at "The Rock" though it is raining. And though the people we invited did'nt come but a lot of Kids did. Since this is one of our goal to minister with the kids in slum area. We are so happy that little by little we see God's purpose with these kids. It is our prayer and vision at The Rock is to transform individuals' lives and transform others' lives also... or in short- multiplication. These kids need a brighter future that's why we put up "The Rock" in this place. Kids started to come last weekend since they were not able to go to school because of the rain. They found a shelter at "The Rock". They stayed there the whole day and our staff was so busy attending them. We believe that one day we can see Kingdom of God established in this area by God's mighty work... He started and He will finish it also.. To God Be the Glory...! in Jesus Name we claim the victory...! God bless "The Rock".....Amen

Second Term Open

The education system here in Thailand is different from ours in the Philippines. They had two terms a year. Last October the school closed from their 1st term and in the beginning of this month the schools open for it's 2nd term. Just this morning we had an hour and a half travel going to the school for our first day of teaching because last two weeks the schools here in the south was affected by flood due to a non-stop heavy rainful. So, we just started this mornig to teach in two school. The kids were so excited to learn english. Some of them are laughing every time they will speak. But it is so encouraging to teach since they are eager to learn yt not all of them are willing. We been teaching in this two schools for 3 years. We have joy in our hearts as we take part in the lives of the muslim kids. They are lovely.

Are we ready?

We are still hoping that on Saturday we are ready for our open house at "The Rock". This is always the problem we are facing... if the work is almost done it seem so slow. That's what we experience right now.. we are almost finished yet we feel that we work so slow to accomplished things. I just pray that we can make it to finish painting until friday and some decoration stuff on saturday. One thing more that I think it was an obstacle is the rain... it's almos raining everyday and we can't work on the outside part of the building. So, rain... rain please go away.... come again another day because we need the job be done this week.

The Rock

Almost a month that we are so busy cleaning and repainting our new center. This center specifically for the kids. We open up a non-formal school for Thai kids who was not able to go to school. Our goal is to help the street kids to accomodate them of food and shelter is necessary. We aim that we can be a blessing to them and that they might see that Jesus, the Savior is on this ministry.. We want to share the Life of Jesus to the kids through this ministry. We believe that this kids will be a future pillar of their community after 20 years. We believe that if we plant a good seed in their heart it will grow and bear good fruit also. The Rock will have an open house on Saturday, November 21, 2009.

Team Meeting

Every monday we had a team meeting and every meeting we had a devotion. Yesterday's devotion reminds me of the life of a true disciples. We studied Luke 14:25-35. It says in verse 26,
"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, as well as his own life, he can't be my disciple." I can't deny that sometimes I failed. Sometimes we are always influenced by our own self and we followed it. It gives me a strong emphasis that we must be aware of the scheme of our enemy as he uses our own self.
