Food Festival in Hatyai

Just this afternoon me and my wife went out for a change. We dropped by at The Rock to check if there's a water bill but no bill yet.. We did not stay long at the Rock  but we go straight to the Department Store in that area which is our major plan. While on our way we saw some store along the street. As we pass along the street looking around we see a lot of food. Then my wife said.. ok before we go home later we will drop by and eat our dinner there. We roam around at the Department store about an hour, bought some clothes for our coming baby and some foods for New Year's Eve.. Around 6PM we go back at the street we saw. By that time a throng of people coming.
One thing that I really like here in Thailand is their food festivals. They have this celebration any where and the good thing is that, Thai people are very supportive to their fellows. I really appreciate the way they support each other. I, myself really enjoy every time they had a celebration like this. You can see various kinds of foods from desserts to heavy meals and you can choose different kinds of noodles you want, not only that... exotic foods is present also. It's really fun to be in their celebration. The food festival near Diana Department store will be until January 3, 2010. They are open around 5PM onward. Try to experience eating delicious Thai foods. You will see Thai food, is one of the best!

Bonding Moments

We were given a 2 weeks rest since December 25. Our normal life before that we were used to has changed. Before I wake up at around 6AM but now i can get up in bed at 7AM. I don't know, I feel like I'm not used to do this. But i know, it's only for 2 weeks. What good thing we had is, since only me and my wife in the house, it seems like boring....! ha ha ha... No it's not...We had some time to talk....And just this afternoon we had some fun... Pearly saw the Word Factory game board and she said let' play this but I told her oh.. i don't want to play with.. you can't beat me...just teasing her.. So after lunch we brought it upstairs in our room and played.. Until we feel like it's enough... but she said can we play it in Tagalog words.. Then we tried and we just laugh and laugh at the words we wrote... just for fun and we really enjoyed it.

Word factory is known in the Philippines as one of the best board games. I love playing it..!

Have a Blessed and Joyous Christmas

Christmas.....! I remember during my days attending sunday school, we had a christmas presentation. This is what I memorized and I am thankful to God that it always reminds me of what He has done. I memorized Luke 2:10-12
V.10"...Fear not for behold I bring you good tiding and great joy, which shall be to all people."
V.11 "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior which is Chris the Lord."
V.12 "And this shall be a sign unto you, You shal find the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger."
Every year we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. This is the precious gift we ever had in the history of mankind. But sad to say that sometimes people did not recognized Jesus as their Savior, they don't accept the gift of eternal life that Jesus brings...

The reason why we are also here in the field is to proclaim Jesus Christ to be Light of this world. That through us, our actions and presence will manifest Christ Glory.

For some people here Christmas is all about Sta Clause. They don't really know the meaning of Christmas. But Praise God, we had a meaningful life that's why we celebrate christmas. Let's share this wonderful story of christmas to others.. Let them know that Jesus loves them so.. Merry Christmas to all....!

A Passion for Kids

Just this afternoon we walked on accross the railways to go to the other side where the kids living. These kids are those who come at the Rock everyday to hang out, play and eat. As we reached to the place I was surprised to what I saw. It was a swampy place as I never expected. I saw these houses along the street but I never been in that place before. Then it just came to my mind these kids are very important in the community. As what I wrote on my previous blog that some of them stopped going school. Some of them, their parents don't really care if they will go to school or not. These kids I believe if no one takes good care of them neither no one shows compassion nor let them know that they are important, one day they will be a problem in the society. I think there are problems in the community right now with the street kids and drugs and probably these kids may come to that situation if they feel abandoned. Some of the parents also had lacked of education so to their children education is not important as well. As I saw their situation this afternoon I ask God what can we offer to this kids? How can we relate to them and let them know that we care for them? To let them know that Jesus loves them and cared for them. Children are precious in the sight of God.

Say Goodbye to Rats........

Since we moved to our recent house last second quarter of this year we had some problems in our location since we are along the busy road. It is so noisy especially at night... You can hear the car, it seems they are racing... but I think it is bearable.. yet sometimes it's hard to fall asleep if you hear the cars fast and slow passing by.

Another thing that gives us irritation is the rats..... every morning we can see the dung of the rats in some corner of the house especially under the fridge. Some time if we forgot to throw the garbage at night you can see it the following day on the floor.. a messy floor... The last time we try to trap the rats. We bought a sticky glue for rat and only one been stick to the trap... But right now no more traps been made because our door was fixed already.. no more noisy sounds we hear from the street.. Praise God for His faithfulness... To God Be the Glory...!

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.......

I am supposed to go to the other project ministry today but unfortunately, i didn't. Last night after we had our prayer time with my wife, she went to the toilet and when she came back to our room I am already half asleep that time. I saw her that something bothering her, I asked her what happened? Then she told me that some waters flows in her thighs. I saw her like she's scared and I understand then since it's already 29 weeks on her pregnancy and she had an experinced of miscarriaged twice. Then I feel like, what shall we do now? Then I rise up from bed, took the computer and open it. Then I started searching some information about the case we had. But I don't know the exact term I will search, so I went into babies online and look for an answer. Then i saw the term they used as discharge fluids. I read through all the information their. I as read through it my mind is also in the promised of God in Psalms 23. It was the same verse that one of my friends gave me when we are chatting. The Lord really is my Shepherd... I shall not want.

I was not been satisfied with what I got from the internet so i grabbed the book that Pearly is reading regarding her pregnancy. Then I went to the chapter of 29 weeks. Then it was the same information I got. I felt calm and relaxed that time and when she told me that the leaking already stops.... relieve and comfoted that God is with us and He is in control of everything..... We, then prayed to God for His protection to our baby Jaden in Pearly's womb and Praising God for His assurance.

"Thank you DK"

Last two months ago we had an American volunteer came that based from Malaysia. That was the time that we are busy cleaning and repainting The Rock. He helped a lot in our painting jobs. He has done great things and I believe that he offer it to God his Master. I believe he also enjoyed much with the kids he met at The Rock. They played together at the football field as the kids called it. As he showed passion and love with these kids for a short period of time they learned to love him as well. Then last Sunday he asked me if he can have a party for the kids on Tuesday night before he will leave the following day and I said yes you can. So Tuesday night come, we prepared food for his expensed. They had a wonderful night and the kids told him not to leave but stay here. It is reaaly hard to say goodbye. Before the final hour to send the kids home DK prayed everyone of them one by one. He also shared the kids that Jesus loves them. We are also thankful that he was been with us for a couple of months. Thank you so much DK... Praying that God will continue to bless you in the ministry that He has entrusted to you... More power to your service to our Great God.

Our Ministry Vision

As years past, we studied all the things we gonna do in the ministry that God has entrusted to us. Then just a couple of months ago, we started to sit down and make plans and goals that we need to be reached. The first thing we settled was according to our vision statement "To see a healthy indigenous church movement in every neighborhood who will transform their communities and adjacent neighborhoods." We acknowledge that this is not an easy task but one thing for sure with us is that, this is God's ministry and He can do things beyond what we can do. We are just relying on the Power of the Holy Spirit. Like, what we studied before in the book of Acts chapter 2 when the Apostle were filled with the Holy Spirit they speak in tongues and people were added also.... Is that the work of man? It was very obvious that it was the work of the Holy Spirit. We are nothing in the sight of God. So, the same thing with us here. we believe that God will be the one to manifest His Glory to build His Kingdom here on earth.

In order to meet our vision, our first and foremost core value is PRAYER. We believe in the Power of prayer as we continually kneel down to God, the Lord Jesus Christ will intervene on our behalf. So, in the ministry here prayer is the top priority of our team. Each team must have morning devotion in the office and once a month, we had our Team Prayer Meeting. Prayer can move the insurmountable obstacles that will stop our goings. We ask for your prayers too that God will always be our defender. One verse in the Bible that always encourage me to move onward as what Apostle Paul said in ACTS 20:24 "But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

The Rock Operation # 1...... Kids Lice Treatment

As we are now busy making things to be settled at the Rock, we also become aware of the needs of the kids around us. Sometimes they come at the Rock without breakfast, walking without shoes. The Rock also offers shower for them every time they come to us. Just this afternoon we started our first operation.... operation lice treatment... but we had just two kids so they are the first to have treatment... Anyway I did not do it. I can't stand to watch it. Our boss and his wife did it. I believe they are an experienced couple and I know we will experienced it also later. These kids are really on the streets all day long so they had so many lice. No wonder that we always see them scratching their head.... Hopefully, tomorrow will be another batch of kids to undergo treatment... We have so many things to do for the kids but we need one step at a time.. Please pray that next time we can give them toothbrushes and shoes. Pray also for God's provision..
